Hockey-Sannat in English
Hockey Sannat group consists of women who are united by enthusiasm for the sport and a relaxed attitude. If you stay on your feet on skates you are welcome to join our group. ;)
We play "höntsälätkä"/"hobby hockeys" (no contact, no slap shots) in two level groups and we want to offer the opportunity to enjoy the sport for players of all levels. So don't hesitate, come quickly and try it!
Anyone can join the Mammat group, and the name of the group does not refer to age (~"oldies". ;) Skates (figure skates are fine too), a helmet (preferably with a crossbar), a stick, some kind of gloves and a drinking bottle are enough for the "tryout". A neck guard is also highly recommended right at the beginning if you decide to start practicing. Hockey pants, hockey gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads and shin pads (+socks) also provide nice additional protection, but accessories can be acquired little by little. You will get the jersey for each practice at the locker room before practice, when we selecting the teams (green or black) where we play that time. You can take the jersey home to wash and it will always be returned for the next practice.
Slightly more skilled players play in Vauhti group ("speed" group). They keep up faster pace - most of players have some background of hockey or skating. Starting from the 2024-2025 season, the group also has a coach, Tuomas Heinonen, who visits practices prox. every other time. In this group, many also have all pads/gear. The jersey can be borrowed during training and they are also used in practice games. You can take the jersey home to wash and it will always be returned for the next practice.
It is recommended that everyone has their own personal accident insurance, because the players play in our group at their own risk. However, it is not mandatory.

on Wednesdays at 20.45-21.45, rink 2
- season 14.8.2024-26.3.2025, except 19.2.2025 NO PRACTICE (week 8 is the winter holiday, when we only have one ice hour together with Vauhti group on Thursday)
Vauhti
on Thursdays at 21.00-22.00, rink 1

Place
Varissuo ice rink (hall), rink 1 and 2, you can see the locker room from the hall masters' booth screen in the lobby (it says MOMS, TuKV-N / Hockey Moms, Kisurit N, TuKV Naiset, etc.)
Gear/pads
Mandatory: helmet (preferably with a crossbar), skates (also figure skates will do), gloves and stick, and if you decide to join also a neck guard. Other pads are also recommended in the future to avoid injuries. Training jerseys are always distributed before practice.
Rules
No contact.
No slap shots.
Offside rule
- players of the team with the puck may not go to the opponent's defense zone (over the opponent's blue line) before the puck. In Mammat group this doesn't matter so much either. :)
All players are taken into account in Mammat group!
Communication
The groups have common and their own WhatsApp groups, through which communication and registration for practices can be done during the season.
Price
The season fee depends on the number of players, but it is approx. 140-200 €/season (includes the division fee of €10).
The players of both groups have the opportunity to participate in the ice of the other game group as well, however respecting the level of that group. You can also pay with the Smartum or Epass mobile apps (not with vouchers), but you have to notify us separately because the payments go to the main club's account.
Prices for season 2024-2025:
The season fee depends on when the person joins.
- August-September: €140
- October-November: €110
- December-January: €80 and
- February-March: €40.

In the payment message, add: "Hockey-Sannat, season 2024-2025".
If you pay in 1-3 parts, add "1/2" at the end of the payment message. The payment should preferably be made in max 3 parts.
The season fee will be checked if necessary when the ice fees increase. In the fees mentioned above, the increase in fees for hobby facilities in the period 2024-2025 already decided by the city of Turku in 06/2024 has been taken into account.

How to become an official Hockey-Sannat team member?
- Register to be a member of Turun Kisa-Veikot club:
Join Turun Kisa-Veikot.
The membership fee is 15 €/season and it will be billed after you have been approved by the club admin.
- Register as a hockey player on Suomisport site (hobby player's registration, 6, 75 €).

Select "ice hockey" as the sport and "Turun Kisa-Veikot" as the club. If you already have a player pass from hockey for another club, that's enough to register.
The basic hobby pass does not include insurance, but it is possible to get it together with the hobby pass if you do not already have your own accident insurance.
